I agree with Mark about it being our business...
And I agree with Amy that you should keep that to yourself.
Maybe it's just nothing to worry or fight about

I would have to say that I agree with Amy on this one.
Although Mark is right in that Celebrities do in some ways put their life out there to be picked over by the vultures of the press, Andy is a SPORTSMAN first and foremost. If he is a celebrity too, then that is the creation of the press - it doesn't give anyone the right to claim access to his private life.

Neither did I Elly and the person probably got what they wanted anyway, a whole topic of people disagreeing with each other about whether it should or should not have been posted, I think the best way to deal with people like that is to ignore them, they soon get bored when no-one rises to the bait. Also on the subject though, what do the people who think Andy should have a private life think of what his mother writes about, she even quotes what he says to her privately. I doubt very much whether Andy is all that bothered about what is written about him, most of us know the majority of stuff won't be true anyway. We'll love him anyway no matter what is written.

thats the thing.as time goes on we will begin 2 become experts at recognising wat is true and what is false.for me this thing is all false.i think that yes we can be interested in these kind of topics but cant let it go too far. ie posting up lies and prying into things.

I think that's the most sensible reply on this thread.
Amy, I understand where you're coming from. Private lives SHOULD be private lives, but in this day and age of the cult of the celebrity, then it's just unrealistic not to realise that his personal life is going to be the subject of much speculation and will attract just as many column inches as his tennis.
That's the nature of the beast called "the media"
And as Andy is no shrinking violet, I'm sure he realises this completely.
I think he's had excellent advice in media training (cant remember if I read that in The Times or somewhere). Petch has been on both sides of the coin as a player and a pundit, spending ages on the circuit and around major players, I'm sure he realises the pitfalls.
Let's not fall out over this, but try and be realistic.
I'm shocked by the vitriol on some boards. Murray's World has a wonderful friendly atmosphere. Hopefully it can stay that way.
I think we have to agree to disagree.

OK, you're certain and we aren't. Let's just agree to disagree. Enough has been said on this subject.

Sorry John, dont mean to override you, just needed to add the last word. (
typical woman!!!)
"ioveajoke" ( good name or should it be "stirrer") Andy has a girlfriend. It may/maynot be Nigel Sears' daughter. But so what? Does it make him any less committed, any more determined or focussed on his tennis.
It makes him a totally normal lad IMO.
I just dont see why everyone is all het up about it.
Quite honestly I'd be a bit worried if he wasn't meeting lots of girls at the age of 18. It's so normal it's probably totally boring. And, as he is now attracting loads of female attention, he has to learn to be a bit careful as he could be stitched up.
But to make a thread about "rumours" should be laughed off as the inconsequential gossip it is. It just simply isn't important.
I just dont see the need to go on and on, Believe it or not, I'd had several boyfriends by the age of 18, but I'm a nobody so noone gave a toss.
Are we asking he stays away from friends or the opposite sex?
Gawd forbid!
So
GO ANDY.
Dont let tennis take you off being a well rounded, multi faceted individual.
That's why we are "fans"
[/b] We like your style.
