Andy to wed Kim in 2013

Thanks John, didn't recognise her.  Andy said in an interview with Petchy that he hadn't visited any jewellers for about 4 years nor had he any plans to do so.  He said that the reports of an engagement were not true and that he wouldn't be thinking of that for a few years yet.

I wonder what stops him. Its not as if he cant afford it.

What's that got to do with it? confused
Why on earth does everyone on here want to get him married off? 1/3 marriages in UK ends in divorce people Rolling Eyes

That's my feeling as well. Nothing to do with money, he is still young, plenty of time, no rush!

Lack of money hardly has anything to do with Andy + Kim tying the knot. She's not poor either. In Andy autobiography he says his parents divorce makes him aware of how important it is to have a lasting relationship.
Therefore he doest seem to be the type to take relationships lightly, like some rich and famous people do.
They live together, so there's no urgency.

Fed and Mirka didn't tie the knot until she was pregnant.

Andy and Kim are fine as they are. They are both still young and have lots to do before they settle down.
I did all my travelling and did not get married until I was 38 and my husband was a couple of years older. I suppose it depends what you want in life.

I think because they've been together for so long (discounting the short break),some people forget that they're actually still pretty young-Andy is 25,and Kim is still only 24.While plenty of people do get married before that, many more would consider that pretty young to get married. They're in love, living together, and happy.When/if they do marry,it'll be when they want to.

Suppose but his brother married very quickly and romantically. One of the many things I dislike about Federer is that he only married his girlfriend of ten years  when she was having a baby. I think Andy will be lucky if a lovely girl like Kim is willing to hang about for years without commitment from him. If he loves her he should want to marry her - old fashioned I know but still true.

Everyone is different though-just because Andy hasn't married Kim yet, doesn't mean he doesn't love her or isn't committed to her,and we don't know that he doesn't want to marry her. They're both young, and he lived through what was,by all accounts, not the friendliest divorce when he was a kid.We know that left an impact on him, because he's said so!Doesn't mean he won't marry, just that he might not want to do it as fast as others.
Plus,he might actually just want to wait until they have time to do it and enjoy themselves-he has a very, very full schedule during the year, and he trains during off season too.I seem to remember reading in an interview with Jamie that he actually didn't get to take his wife on a honeymoon, because a few days after the wedding,he was playing tennis in some other country! And the scale Jamie plays on is less that Andy's,so presumably it would be just as difficult for Andy to carve out a block of time,if not more so.

According to my paper, they are to marry after Wimbledon next year.

Honestly, it's just the tennis I'm interested in atm.

I wonder if Jamie marrying so quickly was something to do with his wife staying in the country?

What happened to the suggestion that there should be a separate wedding thread so that those of us not interested in Andy's marital status can ignore it?  Whistle

Frankly if I thought it would get Andy his first slam I'd shove Kim out of the way and marry him myself.  Whistle

As far as I can see they love each other, they live together, they have been together for years apart from the brief split, which shows they are in it for the long haul, but they are young and have all the time in the world. The rest is no one else's business.

Thoughts, opinions and gossip on this topic here for those interested. Smile

The story so far is that Andy has been denying wedding rumours all year at which point I believe he said "We'll see" a few weeks ago and then the press started reporting the wedding will be held after Wimbledon next year.

True or not, I don't believe Andy would ever publicly announce it, why would he, so we will probably never find out until after its happened.

I don't think it's going to happen soon. Both of them are still young and they seem content of what they have right now. Besides, Andy's too busy chasing his first grand slam. Maybe once he wins his first trophy...

The day he weds Kim will definitely be bittersweet for many AM fans including myself Smile
