Didn't get to watch the match. Read through the thread here.. so many break backs and BP saved from 40 down, incredible fight.

Hopefully Andy can get his service games worked out moving forward but seems to me that his ground game is pretty much there now.

Great for Andy to be back winning a tournament, should give him the confidence that he's back in with elite again now. By the time the AO comes round I wouldn't want to rule him out beating anyone.

Well done Andy you showed grit and determination. Your great heart and fighting spirit were to the fore .

A great match by two great players who have come through many physical problems but battled to overcome them both players showed they both have great hearts and the will to win.

Unfortunately we won't see Andy until the Davis Cup in November, assuming that he plays, which I hope he does.

Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund have won a total of 1 Tour event between the pair of them! Just shows how difficult it is to even win a 250 event.

Thanks BN.  I hadn't realised that.  Kyle's fast becoming a waste of space though, but I do have hopes for Dan next season.

Btw having looked back at my intro to this thread, I'm so pleased that Andy proved the writer of article wrong when he said "I strongly feel that winning the title is going to be a bridge too far for Murray against such quality opposition as
Wawrinka" - and me too because I went for Stan in 3.  Should have known better, write Andy off at your peril!

Thanks moonglow.  Love the picture of the two of them holding their trophies because it shows the genuine friendship there is between them.  Would like to see Stan winning a tournament soon, something he hasn't done since 2017, and see he's playing in Basel this week - but then so is that other Swiss player what's-his-name!
