A spot in the final is a severe must for Murray now. Can't believe some were saying he had a bad draw this year. He's making the best of a great opportunity and let's hope he goes all the way!

I agree Barry.  At the end of the day, Andy turned out to have a great draw although I would say that Andy created his own luck by being more aggressive and take his opportunities much better.  Last year, he may have lost against Isner or Nadal.

R1-R3 : >50 ranking opponents
R4      : Rank 33 - last seeded player (only seeded because Gille Simon Pulled out) who is tired due to winning a tournament last week and playing doubles although this guy was dangerous  -  Andy played very well here
QF      : Rafa who is below his best (dodgy knee) - Again Andy played fantastic today
SF       : Cilic who had three 5 sets matches so will be knacked comes Thursday Smile

I hope that Andy will win convincingly on Thursday and be 100% fresh for his opponent comes Sunday.  Given his luck, the winner of the other half will have come through tough 5 sets matches and will succumb to fatigue in the final lol

He's had a decent draw, but no one can say it's better than djokovic's!

The draw was originally difficult, but most of his seeded potential opponents lost.

Instead of Melzer and Monfils in R3 and R4, he played Serra and Isner!

Let's not forget that he's earned this SF place by getting through Nadal too, so it wasn't all that easy. Rafa wasn't injured in those first two sets, Andy played brilliantly to get into that 2 set lead before the knees gave up on the Spaniard.
Glad he's playing Cilic instead of Roddick or Del P though - he'll be fired up for revenge as well as being fired up for that final spot. cmon yeah

I so hope he pulls this off. However if it doesnt come off this time i've just been delighted by the way he's played. Loving the new murray and i'm hoping that he will escape criticism if he loses. He's answered that already. Fingers crossed I get the best birthday present ever!!

^ Yes.  Even if he goes no further here, he's totally shown what he's made of.  A great start to the year however it turns out. Smile

Well, we are forecast yet another thunderstorm for tonight (will be 3rd night in a row for us), so I might not be around here, but hopefully Sky will hold out!  I'm going for Andy in 3 - I'm looking for that positive body language again from him.

What would we have given for Murray to not have lost a set and be facing Cillic for a place in the semis.

If he were to lose, it would depend on why. If for some reason he reverted to pushing rather than playing the excellent attacking tennis he's played so far this year, he'd get panned - and rightly so.
