I have not watched the match and do not intend to do so. Might be painful. On a good day any player can beat the top players. This also happened today to Schwartzman, who lost to a certain O‘Connell (I don‘t know him). Hurkacz lost to Mannarino, all of them in 3 sets.
It was a great opportunity for Andy to reach the next round, but for whatever reason this wasn‘t to be. His opponent apparently had a very good day, Andy may have been flat (or exhausted from playing unusually much tennis recently).
Yes, the defeat is disappointing. Yet, I hope Andy does not lose the motivation for keeping on. I so love seeing him on court.

Wonderful seeing Andy playing , he has done incredibly
well to get back to The Australian Open .

I do not understand the booing which has been
heard during several matches . So disrespectful
to the players and horrible to hear. So unnecessary, we are not watching football !!

Yes I have just found out from Twitter.
Andy found it irritating. I think it is a bit strange .
I can always turn the sound off !! But you miss
other things . Oh well !

The strange thing about this match was that Andy has no clue what made him play on this level. Must me so hard for him. After his come back he plays a lot better against top 10/20 players than far above this level.

Well if he doesn't know, then I doubt anyone else does.  I didn't watch this match, but from reports Andy seemed to be a bit fatigued after his match against Basilashvili while Daniel played way above his level.  I know Andy has very high expectations of himself but needs to realise that he's 34, not 24 - and also he isn't used to playing best of 5 matches like he did in the past.  The bottom line really though is that it's absolutely amazing that he can still play tennis competitively at all!
