I must admit though that I like E as a player. I like his approach and his unflappability.

All these early breaks in each set always put him on the back foot. It was visible that a third set was a high hurdle against a solid player like E.
Still, Andy could match him for large passages, which was encouraging to see. In the end, E is No 30 or so and he showed it today.

Andy worked so hard and played so many good points, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. 46 to 41 UE’s with Andy having 46. He was aggressive and threw everything at Etchberry, but Etchberry was too good. And like Aileen, Etchberry has got better since his last match with Andy.
