Still he made quite heavy work of Cam. Obviously Andy's superior fitness paid off in the last set though.

He had 4 tie-breaks in a row there so its too soon to say he's going to win the Aussie Open in January

Just got up and very happy to learn that Andy won, despite losing the second-set tiebreak. Back-to-back wins at last! If he does get Thiem next, I have a feeling it may not be quite as tough as it appears. I get the sense that Thiem has not been his usual battering ram self. Let's hope so anyway!

Honestly, considering it's only weeks since he gave up in that Mallorca challenger, Andy's stamina is simply amazing. It's dawning on me just how much pain he must have been in before the hip surgery. Now that he doesn't have to play through that misery, I'm beginning to feel he can perhaps come back to do anything!

The third set was amazing, Andy could do no wrong and Cam just couldb’t Do anything right. Cam was great and really played really well and has a future but it seemed like something magic happened in that third set. Andy stopped looking tired, made the right shots and the set was over before you knew it. I sure needed it to be as I was exhausted. Sure happy Andy and the rest of us have a day off.

Definitely needs to work on his return game - especially on being more clinical on break points - but it's just nice to see him enjoying playing pain free.

Hopefully once Andy gets his physical stamina sorted out the rest will follow.  After all he can't do everything at once!
