Andy and Dani may have been friends for years but business is business. Hopefully a great year ahead for Andy.

Where Murray comes out on top of the diminutive Spaniard, though, is in the Appendage department, because, despite Nadal's claim that he is hung like a Mallorcan donkey, it is, in fact, the Scot who is, almost certainly, the Biggest Knob on the current Grand Slam circuit.
Game, Set and Match to Murray.
This is for you Angie

I object to so many people assuming that Andy is the one in the wrong. It could be that Dani tried working with Amelie, couldn't handle it, and left.

Having skimmed through all the recent posts on this, thank you for the voices of sanity. Only Andy and Dani really know the truth of the matter. End of!

I have deliberately avoided this thread because I fully predicted a lack of sanity, but plenty of baseless speculation, and people making judgements they know nothing of. I was kind-of hoping things may have calmed down a bit by now.
As for the twitter thing, it sometimes happens that "it" decides to unfollow people, and you have to re-follow them. It has happened to quite a few people, including myself. However, in this case, I think it's more likely that Andy just doesn't want to follow tweets about how Berdy's training is going. It's entirely possible he has 'lists' of people who may post things of interest, to keep things more manageable. I have several lists, and one is for Andy and his team, and other British players etc. I had considered removing Dani from there to the general 'tennis' one myself, because it jarred to see him tweeting pictures of Berdych.
More to the point, I'm sure he has Dani's phone number, so they can message each other with anything personal.

None of us really know what went on between Dani and Amelie which caused problems for Andy. We just need to hope that andy makes some really goo decisions regarding his team, so to help him get on with his tennis.
I hope you all had a very happy Christmas.

It might be fun for a bit but can't think that hanging around hitting balls and watching Andy play is a long term job for any young guy with any ambition. Dani has been around Andy for a long time and that friendship is not going to disappear overnight.

Will be interesting if Andy does hire Benny's coach because a) Benny is a s and v player and 2) has had, I believe, his best year.
Interesting times

@blueberryhill
- But will Bennie be prepared to part with him or even willing to share him with Andy? Admittedly he's 33 and nearing the end of his career, but if he's been enjoying success recently he might have other ideas.

@Aileen
He's committed to Benny till the AO. Also, don't think Andy would want him full time.

According to Twitter (and a journo who I follow who has been to a presser with Andy) Andy is looking to add someone to his team for when AM isn't travelling with him

Andy said something along these lines in a courtside interview during the ITPL when the Williams v Flipkens set was being played. What struck me during that interview was that (it seemed to me) he sounded relaxed when talking about his team/coaching - that slightly constrained/tense/defensive tone that sometimes creeps in wasn't there. Could be of course that he was still on an emotional high from getting engaged. Though he still seems very relaxed and is smiling a lot during his press stuff for the MWTC.
Would be reasonable to think that Courteau - were he to join the team - would be on the same page coaching-wise as Amelie, and therefore it would be unlikely that any contradictory coaching would go on.

I agree. Andy does look like someone who's been relieved of a burden, and all the friction that was going on in his team must have impacted on him psychologically and therefore no doubt his tennis, although he'd be the last to admit it. For that reason alone I hope Courteau does join his team.

But I note that in the interview posted on another thread Andy expresses a preference for someone based in either Miami or London. Got the feeling that Courteau may not quite be what he's looking for even though Amelie favours him. Anyway, we'll see.

I've just read that other interview and have a feeling too that, desirable as Courteau might sound to us, Andy might have other ideas. Courteau is still only at the rumour stage anyway and any communications with Andy have reportedly been through an unnamed third party (perhaps his management team?), which doesn't sound very optimistic to me, but again if Andy doesn't want to rush things, then maybe he's happier with this arrangement, assuming of course that all this is true and not just media speculation.
