As of posting, I have no idea what's happening.  Andy was provisionally scheduled to play today (Monday) but there's nothing on the order of play.  Round 1 matches are still being played on Tuesday though.

Thank you for confirming that..

According to one report,  Andy showed 'positive signs' when he was practising with Mackenzie McDonald yesterday, but as the accompanying video only showed one not very strenuous serve, it was difficult to judge anything.

I see his match was cancelled and his opponent is playing a lucky loser.

Yes he's withdrawn due to the abdominal strain - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis

I saw a pic on FB showing Andy only floor in the training room Cincinnati, getting treatment. I had a feeling he would pull out after seeing that.

Better safe than sorry. Certainly the right decision.

I was sure he would too because having practised on Sunday he didn't do so yesterday.

Hoping madly that he'll be okay for the Open. He's got more or less two weeks—I would have thought that would be enough to get him feeling fully fit.

You know Andy just can’t get a break. He works so hard, and plays so hard and the this stomach strain. Prayers for Andy to heal in time for US Open.

Rather infuriatingly Khachanov too pulled out earlier today.  Andy was replaced by LL Daniel Altmaier while Khachanov was replaced by LL Alexei Popyrin, with Popyrin going through to play Nicolas Jarry.
