Favourite MW moments...

Wondering if people have particular standout memories of being on MW.

Over the years, people referred to the 2012 US Open final producing 'the mother of all match threads', which it probably was - total rollercoaster and of course ending happily with Andy finally bagging a slam.

Dunno if you remember my April Fools gags.

Got a retaliatory press conference out of Andy once when I announced Barry Cowan as his new coach. Also drew a comment from Petch on the Miami commentary.

Had the entire Spanish-speaking press thinking he was playing Rome for the ladies’ prize money. Brad Gilbert also convinced.

One or two others as well that I won’t bore you with.

Golden memories.

Yes Grabcopy - your April Fools stories were definite highlights.

My personal favourite time was perversely negative -  Andy barely losing the FO semi to Djoker over 2 rain drenched days, breaking them both to allow Stan the Slime to swoop in and nab it. The match threads here   were both an outlet and a testimony to the shared emotional intensity. And also a bonus opportunity to relentlessly slag off my most hated player of all time.  Whistle

You're April Fools were brilliant!  In fact 1 April has never been the same since you stopped posting them, although I can understand the reason why.

Thanks, Aileen. Also had some impact with my ‘Emperor Federer’ article. In fact, I meant to ask Mark how many views it’s had over the years. People mention it on Twitter a heck of a lot.

Mark?

Yes I remember that one too.  Don't think it went  down too well with the Fed fans!

Based on the last 2 years of accurate data, your article is the 5th most visited page on MW. That makes it currently the most visited article on the website and probably always has been.

I can't give accurate total views as Google ruined their product which lost my data. One reference point is the forum's tracker of it having a total of 84,647 views. That is massively downplaying its exposure as it only covers those that click into comments, though on the flipside, a percentage of those will be search bots.

You may find it amusing that the page that ranks 4th most visited is also technically yours (thread: Is Nadal Gay?).

^ Some interesting posts on there, and 12 years down the line the question has never been satisfactorily answered despite marriage and baby son.
