Had to re-register with a slightly different handle, but you might remember me. I used to write match reports here at all times of the stupid night and pop up on BBC radio where I often lost my rag with football idiots.

Dunno what I’m doing here, really. I’m a bit inconsolable tonight and don’t know how I’m going to fill this hole. Guess I just wanted to be among like-minded folk who’ve been on the same incredible journey for the last 20 years.

It was staggering, beyond words at times. Andy Murray lit up my life and gave me a lifetime of memories as bright and vivid as night-sky fireworks.

It’s been a pleasure and a privilege. What do we do now, eh?

Goodbye, Andy, and thanks for all the crazy, beautiful chaos you brought to the court. You were unique and you’ll always be my hero and my inspiration.

The only nuance I would add to that fantastic assessment is that there is a strong argument that part of what made Andy so great was the fact that he had to raise what might have otherwise not been quite such an extraordinary level precisely because he was competing with the top three of all time. It was a challenge he set himself and rose to.

 Thank you, love watching that montage Tonedial, filling up yet again. My days of following tennis with the heart pumping and the stomach churning is over. Never will be another tennis player like that again. Thank you Andy for great memories, there with be a great gaping hole in the tennis world. I salute you Sir Andy Murray.

No more match days for Andy - or us!  The end of 20 years of physical and mental commitment.  Tournament after tournament, the draw, the schedule, match times.  Organising our days (and nights) accordingly.  Meals skipped, all other interests abandoned.   The excitement,  the drama, the nail-biting moments, the sheer joy of all those wonderful hard-fought victories.  The disappointment of matches lost and the character-building learning to accept defeats.

Andy involved us like no one else.  We were drawn inextricably into his complex Web of adventures and there was no going back.  On court he possessed a heady mix of understated charisma, very individual skills, sporting rectitude and attitude.  He shared and showed his emotions like no other.  A stickler for fairness, he challenged umpires and opponents alike and when things weren't going so well he'd let his team and everyone else know it. 

An incredible 20 years of commitment - Andy  to tennis and us to Andy.  There will never be another quite like Andy... with him, sport became personal.

Had to come back for a tribute post, even though I’ve mostly been lurking around! A big thank you to everyone for all the updates and love for our hero.

I couldn’t watch his final match, but I couldn’t stop crying when I saw the Wimbledon tribute. I watched it alone, and all the emotions just flowed.

I remember following his tennis from when I was just starting to learn about the game, and what a journey it has been. Nobody does it like him, and no one will ever replace him in my eyes.

Thank you, Sir Andy, for everything.
