61st-ranked 23 year old Argentinian Etcheverry is coming off his first final on the ATP Tour at the Chile Open, where he lost to home favourite Nicolas Jarry 7-6(7-5), 6-7(5-7). 2-6. During that tournament he defeated first former world No. 9 Fabio Fognini and then world No. 32 Francisco Cerundolo for the biggest win of his career. Earlier in the season he competed at the Australian Open, exiting in round 1 to Grégoire Barrère, the Argentina Open where he made the quarter-finals before losing to the No. 2 seed Cameron Norrie, and the Rio Open where he was defeated in round 1 by Albert Ramos Vinolas. Coached by Carlos Berlocq, Etcheverry has won 3 Challenger titles, all of them on clay.

On the Indian Wells website it has Emma Raducanu second on Stadium 1 court to be followed by Andy. I assume that their order of play is a real one! That means a couple of UK time late evening matches? That would imply watching Emma at around 8.30pm and Andy perhaps at 10.00pm? They are 8 hours behind us. They start at 11.00am each day their time.
I hope that I have interpreted things correctly. If so, Andy will get 25degC to play in. Not much wind expected.

^ You beat me to it MA except I got it on the ATP website! I usually allow 2 hours for matches, although they can be shorter or longer, so I'd estimate Emma at around 9 and Andy around 11, while living in hope that both are a bit earlier.

This guy's obviously talented but I would think it's Andy's match to lose...

surely Andy has seen film of Etcheverry. But there is that first set where you really get to see what kind of player the guy is.

^ Apollo, Anyone that has watched Andy for a long time lives in fear of his first sets!
Was IW where he had some bad conditions to play in? I have this memory of it being hot and windy or was that somewhere else? At least it is likely to be good conditions this time.
I expect Andy to win today. He had a lot of purpose mentally last time out which I hope is still there.

I think that you may be a better judge of match length than me. I have the earliest time to be ready and then just watch the start time getting later and later. They are never earlier! I was up watching Katie Swan play so as she fell apart I was exploring the order of play.
