MC R3 - Murray vs Fognini

Yeah, same here actually. Didn't like his comments after his loss to Andy at the US Open either.

Remind me, was he talking about tiredness? Now you mention it, that was a bit off too. I suppose he has to strike the balance between being overly-humble and being crucified for the media for losing a match like that though. If he gives no excuses then the amount of print speculating on a loss of form would be too much.
On that subject, I think Andy got quite an easy ride from the British press after the early(ish) loss to Verdasco in the AO. Perhaps they could tell something was up with the illness already?

I wonder what Rafa is like in private? He is so humble and, dare I say it, boring in his interviews and in praising other players. Don't get me wrong, I think it's the right way to go and I'm glad that Andy seems to be copying it (we've seen the stick that Federer has got recently for his ungracious comments), but how much of it is genuine? He seems such a nice guy, but I wonder if he's a total bastard away from the cameras and microphones?

I can see where you're coming from but I think Andy and Rafa are probably quite boring people in real life, in that tennis is their life and they're only interested in knowing it inside out. It's pretty obvious to me that Rafa's humbleness is forced sometimes, possibly due to a language barrier or that he wants to keep his perfect image. I like it though, the media can't twist positive words. Smile

Yeah, it was tiredness and the fact that he said that he thought Andy played better in Toronto (a match that Rafa won in straight sets). Intentional or not, it made Andy's win look like it was all down to how well Nadal played.

I hope it doesn't stay this low key, I don't think it suits Andy.

I too am in awe of his godly physique, speaking from a purely heterosexual standpoint of course, but I have recently sensed a hint of the Devil beneath his underlying facade.

Perhaps he leads a double-life, like Dexter Morgan (hope someone gets that reference!)? lol

Fed broken at the start of the second set.

Scratch what I said about the Wimbledon hype, Andy'll be second seed.  Whistle
