Murray ahead of Djokovic for #1

Quote

After the Federer vs Djokovic match yesterday, Federer was asked whether Djokovic now leads the list of young players threatening his supremacy, Federer responded:

I think Murray is doing more at the moment and improving quicker. It is quite equal between the two but I would give Murray a slight edge.

Thought it was quite a cool quote Smile

Nice one Fed.  yay Andy would have beaten Federer again this week if they had played because Fed is nowhere near his best.

Hmm Federer seems to have changed his tone a little since cincy, or maybe he just never gives credit to the opponent he has just played  Think

Doesn't seem very respectful to the player he almost got beaten by. But that's how I look at it, because I hate Federer. :p

I heard him in an interview yesterday... "Ooh, I have finally realised I deserve to be in the Nr 1 spot for so long, blah blah..." Fucker! Rolling Eyes

1-1 is slightly better than 4-0... lol

Thats probably the best statement that could be said by anybody in tennis regarding Murray.

I actually think it is good motivation for Djokovic. Federer obviously rates him highly enough to fear him therefore he would rather praise someone else rather than someone he sees as a future rival. Also, it might be relevant if the question was raised by an English (British) journalist or a Serbian, i.e. he was just being cute.
