Yes just confirmed it feel sad for Tim but happy for Andy:
Name Points before week started Points defending from Points this week Final points this week last year (Brit Rank)
T. Henman 815 75 from Dubai. 25 from Rot'dam. 765(3)
G. Rusedski 800 5 from Dubai. 25 from Rot'dam 820(2)
A. Murray 763 0 from nowhere. 60+ from Memphis 823(1)
Calculations may be wrong, if so please point it out.

By the way Murray may very well break into the top 40 this week if it stands like this and if he beats Soderling he will be surely be in 40. Another final appearence could see him around 35. If he wins Memphis he would go up to around 31 and surely be seeded in the Masters! Brilliant going Andy!!!!!!!!!

Andy's 18th best score is 7 points from Barletta and 60 points (if its is 60, I was dreading it was less so put in 55) means a 53 point gain so move to 816.

I'd give up chocolate but I'm no quitter!

=D> Yes I heard that on beeb this morning. Congrats to Andy but I doubt that he'll be too bothered about that - it's world rankings that he's aiming for. Feel for Tim though - maybe it'll take some pressure off him.

Great News! Its a shame that Andy won't really appreciate it though Seems a bit of a waste.

I think he does appreciate it but he is an ambitious youngster and im glad he aint happy with bein in the top 40...or just outside it. Also he is clever in that he wants less pressure as possible so goin on bout bein the best in britain will only get the "really friendly" english media on his back 24/7

If at first you don't succeed, you fail.

if he makes it to 31 by masters series time then he will be auto entered. if u are ranked outside the top 32 u can choose to enter or not enter one of those events, but if u are ranked in the top 32 u are automatically entered but can choose to withdraw.

If Andy is seeded at anyone of the Masters it will be great. Imagine being seeded for the first time in your life that too in a Masters!

I can understand why Andy is more interested in his world ranking that the British No.1 slot. He's needs to focus and look at the bigger picture - sure, British No.1 is a bonus but he's want to improve his overall rank so can get seeded for the major tournaments which will only lead to greater success.
