Murray paying the price for fragility

Djokovic is about to win his first MS shield. Didn't drop a set, only dropped serve once. The kind of stats Murray can only dream about. He's put Murray well and truly in the shade. 2 consecutive MS semis in which Murray was physically unable to compete. I seem to recall he was unwell in the Doha final too. He had physical problems in the match vs Nadal in Australia. To me he seems fundamentally too fragile.

Watching Djokovic win that title make me very jealous... I really wanted Murray to take the first MS between the two

Andy was ill for the whole of Doha. He reached the singles final and doubles semi-final and he had almost recovered when he played in the final. So he had done well considering.
Shame Djokovic had to win a MS before Andy.

He's never going to win one becuse he's too prone to injury. he throws himself around the court like an idiot with scant regard for potential injury. He does not have a robust build like Djokovic or Nadal. How many matches this year has Murray's physical condition been a negative factor?
vs Ljubicic is Doha
vs Nadal in Australia
vs Hass in IW
vs Djokovic in IW
vs Djokovic in Miami

Well, he may have won a title before Andy, but I see a lot more potential in Murray. He'll be the new Federer while Djok can be the second Nalbandian.

Sure, but he was in that situation becaise he's so sickly and injury prone. i mean he wears an ankle brace all the time now because one ankle is weak.

I think it's more of an OCD type thing rather than a genuine need.

Both Gasquet and Murray were touted as greatly more talented than Djokovic, but he is having the last laugh as he is fast leaving both of them behind. Every signelt ime Murray has had a chance to make a major breakthrough (MS final, slam QF) he has physically or mentally fallen to pieces.

He wears it as a precaution as he injured it when he was younger.

I think Djokovic has developed earlier then Andy. A bit like Nadal.

I agree, Djokovic was underrated and he is indeed having the last laugh although I continue to hope Murray will sort his game and health out in time to take the first slam.

Murray is too prone to meltdowns. Look at the match Djokovic played today, Murray just seems incapable of being that solid. His baseline game has actually regressed, he used to be a lot more solid but now he seems much more readily drawn into error.

hes still really solid from the baseline, he just lost patience against djokovic, he wasnt really able to out fox him which made him go for a bit to much sometimes and drawing the error

i still think murray will develop into a better player than djokovic , he handles power so much better and can neutralise so many of the top ten 's big weapons with his speed and returns. I too was very jealous at seeing novak win his first ms today just when it looked as though murray was ready to stamp his status as the next big thing in the game, we are forced to sit back and wait as a different teenage sensation steals the limelight. he still however in my opinion has to be regarded as one of the favourates to take the roland garros title behind nadal and federer, and i think even the world number one would be extremely concerned about the threat of murray in that tournament even more so than the presence of novak djokovic.

Why do you consider Murray a favourite for the French Open? His performance on clay last year was dire.
