I wish Tennis players would stop making excuses all the time when they get beaten. It just takes away from the glory of the victor-and often it seems intended to. Tennis players make much of apologising for netcords and the like, but this is an area where they could improve a lot on their sportsmanship.
In this instance, if Kendrick is saying he wanted to show what a man he was, he'd have done better to keep his mouth shut rather than trotting out whiny excuses.

 Totally agree. I read that and thought "sore loser" You are bound to get injured if you pursue a Sports career. At least Teem plays down his knackered back. It's so demoralising and disrespectful to your opponent.  Cant they just accept they lost? |

If Kendrick really was so injured that he lost a set 6-0 wouldn't it be more sensible to retire for the sake of reducing the chance of worsening the injury.
And Michelangelo that's very interesting point - keeping quiet would make him more of a "man" but if he genuinely was injured then I understand that he needs to give an explanation but didn't need to talk about his manliness.
