It was an amazing match, so exciting. The scoreline doesn't nearly do Andy justice cause he was pushing every one of Ljubicic's service games to deuce and winning most of his at 15 or 30. His first serve is such a weapon if he can increase his percentage on that he'll thrash guys like ljubicic. I was seriously impressed. As for the hair, it was fine until he took the cap off and it did this strange sort of bushy-section-round-his-neck-plastered-to-his-head-thing. However, I think the most encouraging thing about yesterday was to see that well known and loved fighting spirit and self-belief back on court. Even when he failed to convert breaks he still fought on and it was good to see. Although he did seem to win points when I left the room. Maybe I should stop watching him play...

I promise you I am more focused on his tennis than his hair.  You just can't really miss it.

Now that's true Wink

Andy's serving percentage deifintely needs pushing up. When he gets his first serve in then he usually wins the point, but unfortunately he's been relying a lot on second serves in his matches so far this year. I don't think the serve has yet quite found the mark.

But it IS a good serve when it goes in!

I think Henman's downfall was always his serve... it just isn't quick enough. I don't think Andy will find that a problem though.

i imagine most young players struggle with this as it is no doubt one of the aspects of the game most affected as u mature physically and try and move up a level but i dont think andy will have a problem with this in a year or twos time

Talking of serves, did anyone see the body shot from Ivan that knocked Andy to the ground?  Now that's what I call a serve.

Pretty much. It must have been so frustrating for Andy. Especially in the second set. He took ivan to deuce on two seperate occasions and had bresk points in both but everytime he go to one of the big points Ivan came up with a serve like that. You could see Andy just looking at it thinking 'I had no chance returning that.' Ivan just came up with the big shots when he needed them.

I should think so. Especially if he keeps playing like he did on Wednesday. his all round game was as good as i've ever seen it. He reads serve so well. Just get that 1st serve % up and there'll be no stopping him.
