OK let's take the debate into here  =D> Nice idea rafa although people might get bit confused and not read that's its only a POSSIBILITY. Rolling Eyes

Anyway murray_mad said this in the other thread:

Sorry but I completely disagree with you, both of them have never faced eachover before, both are good on clay,  I think it will be tight but Andy has the ability to beat Nadal, Hewitt was the strong favourite to beat Andy but what happened there Murray beat him, Roddick was the strong favourite to beat him but Andy beat him in two sets, Stepanek was strong favourite to beat Andy but Andy beat him in straight sets, Andy has caused alot of upsets and I have the feeling if andy gets through in the second round he will cause another upset, You may think Nadal has it in the bag, you will be surprised I promise you.

I know they've never faced eachother before. And that's what's so exciting about it. The fact that i will be supporting Nadal doesn't mean Andy can't win.

I never eliminated the idea that Andy can't win - of course he can. I have full respect for him, and i doubt i would hang round here as much after leaving VR for good if i didn't like Andy more than Rafa.

Andy beat Hewitt on hard court. I know it's not Andy's favorite surface - but he was in excellent form to achieve what he did, when he did. I don't think he's in his best form at the moment and with no coach.. im finding it quite difficult in seeing a win for Murray - i hope im proved wrong.

I may be suprised.. and im always suprised by Andy which is why i like him as a player. But we have to take logic here and facts.. Nadal IS the master of clay at this moment in time. He's got what? 7 or 8 titles on clay last year and with the start of the clay season i think Nadal's going to put all he can in to this first tourney. Also he's defending champion - he might not win, but he'll get further than round 2.

Nadal is  better than everyone on clay at the moment (My opinion) but we have hardly seen Andy on clay the only time I have seen him is when they played in the davis cup which he was under alot of pressure because it was his first singles, Andy trained mostly on clay when he was at Barcelona so Andy might be a clay court specialist, this is something we might find out in Monte Carlo, Im excited now to see how he plays on clay. He may of lost his coach but they both agreed on that (Mainly Andy) so I don't think he will be that upset and he will also want to prove that he can beat the top players consistantly.

I respect your opinion and by no means are we going to get people here to support Rafa. Out of the question.. Please don't!

Im very excited about seeing Andy on clay for the first proper time as well.  =D> I do consider the fact that Andy might be a clay court "specialist" because he's been in Barcelona for quite a bit of his life, and thank god if he is.

I just think there's not much chance of him beating Rafa in a 2nd round of a Masters. That's why i can't say Andy will beat Rafa. Easy.. because it won't be! For either of them.

I don't think "who will you support?!" is an answerable question really. I would be over the moon if Andy won... similarily if Rafa won i would be happy to see him finally back on the road in good form at the start of the clay season.

As far as im concerned this match is going to pretty good and it will be excellent to see 2 players that i've been supporting for a while finally clash on a proffesional level!

Andy did say his fav surface was clay. Could be interesting to see. And we all know that Andy won't be scared of Nadal. Always confident and fighting that he is. He'll also have something to prove, showing everyone his decision about Mark is valid. If Andy's on form thins could be some fight, if Andy can't make the magic Rafa'll walk all over him. And if Rafa takes Andy it's a walk in the park to the final and he could win it no prob. Shaping up to be quite a tornament! Rafa'll be cautious of Andy though me thinks!

We will just have to wait and see, tough one to call though, I'm sure I have heared somewhere that they have trained together, they are good friends I know that, We are definatly in for a killer of a match if it does happen, he will have to get past round one first, if they do play and Andy ends up losing I will be gutted if he got thrashed but I would be happy if he pushed him all they way =D>, I don't know how it's going to end up. CANT WAIT NOW =D>, they have to show this match on sky, if they don't I will be very anoyed ranting.

Nice pics top spin =D>, shame they wont be like that when they play eachover, thats if they do play eachover Nadal has to get past Clement first (not an easy match) and Andy has to get past whats his face? lol
