Murray vs Tsonga

Quote

Utterly disappointed and all credit to Tsonga but Murray is to blame at the end of the day. Just as we thought leaving Brad was a good idea... this is the type of tournament that would show us his changes were right. At least Brad would have fired Murray up enough for this match.

I think what Murray missed most about Brad for this match was a viable gameplan.  Murray's initial plan was suicidal.  He allowed Tsonga to serve and volley far too easily for 2 sets.

Well having failed to crack a GS QF (all his peers have done so) he is now going backwards in terms of slam performances. His worst ever showing at a GS in which he was being talked of as a contender. I expect things to fall apart with this new team pretty quickly

I wonder if you actually believe anything you say.  In fact, I don't wonder.  I know you don't.  It's just trolling.  Credit where it's due, though, you get the desired response

Well it's true, he has now gone backwards in Slams but hopefully this will have scared him enough that we can have hope for the future.

Fuzzy, you dont fool a single person, what you said was purposefully skewed and inept. You are a complete joke of a tennis analyst you behave like a child. When your time on this earth ends, you will be remembered as a childish moron. Good luck to you.

Believe it or not, I actually appreciate fuzzy at this immediate time of utter disappointment - I'd be annoyed if I came on and everyone was saying all the positives because there are absolutely none today.

How is he suddenly in reverse? He lost a competitive game of tennis. He should have done better and on other days he will. Im sure he will also lose many more too - hes not a Federer. He is NEVER going to be consistent. Enjoy the show.

What a disappointment. This makes my Monday worse after spending 1 hr getting to work! Talk about chocking! He knew this was the only tough one up to QF and he let it get to him.  Bye bye top 10!

Take your pick.  Ok, let's forget for a minute that you're trolling.

You said Murray doesn't have a powerful serve, when in fact he IS a big server.  The problem is he doesn't get it in nearly enough.  You said he doesn't have powerful ground strokes.  He does, but he prefers to counter and wait for an opening, whereas someone like Tsonga swings for the fences constantly.  His usual style didn't work tonight.  He needed to be more aggressive, but left it too late and inexplicably abandoned that strategy despite being rewarded with a bagel when he employed it.

You also said he would drop out of the top 50.  You said that before and the absolute opposite occurred.  That's not to mention every other wrong prediction you've made, of which there have been many.  What makes you think you're right this time?

The simple answer is you don't think you're right.  Why?  Because you're not really an idiot.  You might be a windup merchant, but you'd have to be as thick as two short planks to seriously believe that Murray will slip out of the top 50.

I don't expect you to actually counter any of that, rather I expect you will ignore it or come back with some non-sequitur with a view to further winding people up.

As soon as he started talking about how good his draw was and who he had in the 2nd round, I suspected he might lose to Tsonga. The 2nd round doesn't exist until you've dealt with the first.

Sigh.
And so ends British interest in yet another Grand Slam. In singles anyway. With Tim Henman long gone, so are the days where even the first weekend of a Grand Slam might be interesting from a British point of view. Frown

Didn't get to see much of the match as our coverage only showed Roddick and Sharapova on the Vodafone court. Just got 3 games at the end of the 3rd set in between those 2 matches, and the tiebreak after the Sharapova match finished.
