But yesterday he discovered he will not be able to flash any cash on the blackjack tables of Las vegas.

SunSport Columnist Murray Stunned the world of sport with a brilliant truimph over lieyton Hewitt in the final of the SAP Open in San Jose.

But while he is coming of age on a tennis court , the 18 year old is far too young to gamble in the U.S.A.

Murray was soon packing his bagsin caliifornia and heading to the Memphis Teenessee for the RMK championships.

And Next wk he will star at the Tennis Channel Open in las Vegas

Murray beat Hewitt to break a 31 year- old British record held by Buster Mottram who won an eventin Johannesburg at the age of 19.

And the sizzerling Scot said "it was the biggest moment of my life in tennis so far."

"To win 7-6 int the third set against lieyton Hewitt is a dream come true."

"This was only my 14th senior tournament so that was pretty special"

"I still can't believe it.  (nor can we Murray) But i know to win the tournament was obviously a good effort  (you can say that again it was bloody good) and to become the youngest Brit ever is Amazing." (Sure is)

"My aim was to be in top 50 by end of March and I am already 47." "So I can't complain."
(Hell no)

"Players always saw me as a dangerous player , but until San Jose I had not beaten anyone."

"Now I have former world nuber 1's in lieyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick."

"Hopefully I can continue my good form over here in America." (lets hope so)

"I am looking foward to Memphis but I won't be visiting the home of Elvis Presley" "It is not my thing."

"And I am really looking foward to Las Vegas next week."

"Well that was until today when iI was told you have to be 21 to go into a casino- so that doesn't help me very much !

"It would have been nice to have had a bit of a gamble- although I do not do it very often."

"Murray has suffered a disappointing start to 2006."

Yet he has proved before, he is able to overcome minor blips and become even stronger.

Having lost the first set against Hewitt 6-2 Murray was clearly struggling. but he out played the Aussie in the second 6-1 thanks to some brilliant returning.

And he took the thir third on a tie- break before giving his girlfriend Kim Sears a celebratory snog. (next will see them in heat magazine hey laura or murray as torso of wk mmmmm yesssssssss please)

Petchey On Murray

"Its hard to keep a lid on it with how well Andy's done." (Tell us about it)

"But the next goal is to try to get him in the top 32 before French Open so he gets seeded."

"Then I hope he can avoid some of the bigger names in the opening couple of rounds."

Davis Cup Captain Bates on Murray

"Tim Henman won his first title when he was quite a bit older, so this is astounding by from Murray."

"I always thought he had the potential to win a title but I had not expected it would happen so quickly."
