Thanks flowpower.  I hope the pundits who are writing these articles get at least the positive things right!

Jay Clarke has been invited to train with Andy during the Roland Garros preparation. Great experience for Jay.

Unfortunately when I click on that link I'm told "The page you have requested does not exist or is no longer available," but, yes, I agree it'll be very good for Jay.  It'll probably be good for Andy as well to have to hit with an up and coming young player.

Despite protests to the contrary, Andy now says motivation and setting new goals has been an issue this year.

"I got to number one in the world at the end of last year and there's been some times this year where it has been difficult to keep up the motivation and set new goals," Murray said

II wouldn't really have expected him to admit this before and let all the other players know about it, although unfortunately for him it was only too obvious at times.  Meanwhile fatigue, illness and injury were being cited by many as being the cause of his continued lacklustre performances, although no doubt all that didn't help.

I would agree. I wonder why he's said this just before the French.

Let's hope Lendl will re-motivate him again! Or he'll (Lendl) be gone.

Well understandable , but yes would have been better not to say so . The same after winning Wimbledon , so I'm convinced he will bounce back .

I see Henman now thinks Murray might still be suffering the after effects of Shingles and that it disrupted his training schedules.

The impact of the shingles may well have been under estimated by Andy and his team. But the question is why did he come back so soon after it?

Reports are Andy has another illness now. He hit with Pouille yesterday and in today's L'Equipe Pouille's coach was pretty shocked at how poor Andy was in practice, also mentioned Andy has a cold.

Now the Independent have published this:

Oh dear! This is beginning to seem more like a run of terrible luck than a slump.

In this article, Boris, McEnroe, Brad - all give their two pennyworth about Andy's situation http://www.rediff.com/sports/report/what-exactly-is-wrong-with-andy-murray-becker-mcenroe-try-to-find-out/20170526.htm

Fingers crossed for a good draw to help Andy to play himself into some kind of form and confidence. Best of luck <zen>

I agree Tamara.  In fact I really wish he would just pull out of RG now before he does any more damage to his body and his health.  I had shingles when I was 38 and it took me fully two months to recover, or at least to think I had done so, but then unlike Andy I wasn't involved in doing anything particularly physical and had been in good health before the illness developed.

Here's more of the same from The Daily Mail.

Like you Aileen, I had shingles in my early 30's.  I seem to just be on automatic pilot for ages afterwards.  That's a luxury Andy doesn't have.

The media never give up do they? Rolling Eyes

I expect the reason I got over shingles so soon could have been because I didn't have a job at the time, apart from doing some work for a friend, so no hassle.  Also I seem to be one of the lucky ones because until fairly recently I could shake off illnesses quite quickly,  Even as a baby I went down with what was thought to be a form of meningitis when I was only nine weeks old, but made a good recovery - much to the astonishment of the doctor who apparently told my parents that there was very little hope!
