Andy is hoping to "get to the bottom" of his cramping problems with his hydration, conditioning, stress and diet all under the microscope ahead of the US Open; "It's not just been as simple as changing how much I've been drinking or what I'm drinking so I need to get some answers"

^ That is no easy match to start. Let us hope that it is not hot and he has a resolution for the cramps recently experienced.

No surprise really - Andy is not planning a Roger Federer-style farewell ... not that he's got any intention of retiring yet!

^ As you say Andy is very much wanting to play.

I put the comment below here as i am uncertain where to make it!

I imagine after his losses at the Laver Cup he will be determined to get winning again and I see he has joined a stella field in Astana as a wildcard. Perhaps that is a little optimistic but some of his play in London was vintage. I fear though he is like me. I can still go close to running at four minute mile pace, at 73, but only for a very short time. We had glimpses only of how good he used to be. In Astana the draw will be very important!!

However he enjoys playing and he is good to watch and as long as he keeps his 'work in progress' attitude all is good.

^ I agree about the Astana draw!  I also wondered why the tournament was so popular because it was a 250 the last two years, but see it was upgraded to a 500 this year because of the cancellation of tournaments in China.  Hopefully Amazon Prime will now change their minds and cover it.

Fingers crossed Amazon will change their minds so I can get to watch Andy play and some male tennis matches.

I went onto the tournament website today and did not find Andy amongst the players shown but he is shown as playing on the ATPtennis site. Do we know when the draw is? I assume it will be this weekend.

@MA - I've just been onto the tournament website and Andy is shown as playing!  Can't find anything about the draw but would think the weekend.

Andy isn’t playing Astana - he handed back the WC and it was given to someone else.

Andy’s current schedule for the rest of the year is:

Gijon
Antwerp
Basel
Paris

^ Thanks ATL.  For the benefit of others, Gijon starts on 10th October,
