Sorry for wrong information if it's not true but equally pleased if he will play.

It looks like the entire media were going by the ATP's now deleted tweet, so no need to apologise wb.  In fact we can't even be sure now exactly what this procedure was.

According to Leon Smith, Andy's been getting conflicting advice from the specialists he's consulted, and so will reach a decision probably later in the week.

Awful situation, between a rock and a hard place, I would say. Yet,  I hope he will not simply disappear from the scene. But what would be a fitting end?

Having returned to training, Andy is leaving making a decision about Wimbledon until as late as possible.  Might not be able to play singles but could play doubles which start later in the week.  If he can't play Wimbledon or the Olympics he would still like to go out playing a proper match "where I'm at least competitive, not what happened at Queen's".

Thanks for the update Aileen.   Playing doubles makes sense.    Especially as it gives him a bit more time.

I can't see him playing BO5 in singles.  Since last year doubles have been BO3, something which would be much more manageable as well as giving him a bit more time.

I agree - Doubles makes much more sense.  He'll be much more competitive in Doubles and likely to get more than just 1 game at Wimbledon - it'd be really cool to see him help Jamie get the Wimbledon Mens doubles title that has eluded him to date.

I would be really happy if Andy only played doubles, less taxing on his body and may be able to get further than R1. Also last appearance on court with his brother is a great memory to have.

If Andy does decide to play singles, he'll meet Tomas Machac in round 1, possibly on Monday.

In the doubles, Andy and Jamie will play the Australian pairing of John Peers & Rinky Hijikata, possibly on Wednesday.  Get past them and the prospect of the No. 9 seeds Neal Skupski & Michael Venus in R2.

That is good for both of them just to be there with GB.

Andy's had two offers to play in the retired players invitational doubles at Wimbledon next year - one from Ash Barty and the other from Feliciano Lopez.
