Andy spent three weeks at the end of Nov/beginning of Dec training with Lendl in Florida, and Lendl is backing him for a strong showing at the AO and beyond, stating that "I saw zero signs that it's a farewell tour.  I wouldn't be there if it was."

One mistake though - Andy kicks off his season in Adelaide not Auckland.

This is partly a transcript of an interview Mrs Z-R had with Andy recently on Radio 4.

Aileen why is it a mistake that Andy is starting off in Adelaide and not Auckland?

Aileen why is it a mistake that Andy is starting off in Adelaide and not Auckland?

In the article I think it suggested Auckland which is where Emma R is starting was where Andy was going. It was probably just a slip in printing the article which Aileen spotted? I nearly got caught out by the way it was said but once I had read the article it was more obvious!

I think on this site regulars all are aware that he starts in Adelaide.

Because this is what it said in the article - "Murray will open his year in Auckland before moving to Australia and he's got big expectations of 2023", yet he's only scheduled to start his season in Adelaide, something most of us on here have known for a while.

Thanks flowerpower.  Quite understandable really.

However after a rest Andy is planning on doing a short training block in Florida before playing in Dubai at the end of February.

Thanks.  This is the first I knew that Andy had a wild card for Doha!  Makes sense though  given that he's been training in Dubai.

Arrived there today along with Zverev and Rublev.

I would say that Sonego followed by Zverev is a pretty terrible draw but Zverev at least is definitely not back to his best, and Sonego's form seems pretty up and down, so I'm marginally giving it to Andy!
