Sounds sensible to me. If I remember correctly, he did quite well at last year‘s Madrid Open.

Yes, he defeated Dominic Thiem and Denis Shapovalov before getting food poisoning, which forced him to pull out of his match against Djokovic. I think the thing about Madrid is that because it's high altitutde the courts play faster than clay courts normally do, so that suits his game better.
