The fact that Andy doesn't need surgery is good news because he now has a fair chance of making at least part of the grass court season,

I think that we must not expect too much as the injury recovery will be slow.

Andy's entered for the French Open which starts on 26th May - perhaps more in hope than expectation?

^  I think that would be a wise plan.  I hope that if he does play he has conditioned his damaged ankle areas sufficient not to cause a repeat problem that then needs far longer to put right.

^ My concern is the same, but as he seems to be determined to have one last go at it I think it'll take a lot to stop him.

Andy practising on clay, so possibly aiming for the French Open.  If nothing else at least it proves that the ankle injury wasn't as serious as was originally thought.

CONFIRMED - Andy to partner Dan Evans in doubles at the French Open, if fit in time.  Whether he'll play singles or not is unknown because his name was automatically included in the singles draw.

Also believed that Andy will partner Joe Salisbury again in the Paris Olympics, with Dan possibly partnering Neal Skupski, something he would have done in Tokyo had he not tested positive for covid shortly before the Games started.
