guardian report on the semi, how andy battered his fish

sample - Murray was in charge for much of the first set but they broke each other three times in a wretched second before the world No4 edged the tie-break.

"I was struggling physically," Murray said. "I don't know exactly what it was. Right now I don't feel that tired, I don't feel that drained. My legs just need to get stronger. I've not played that many matches since Wimbledon. It's something I haven't struggled with for quite a long time.

I hope the tiredness is not due to the new diet! shocking If he feels that that after two sets, how will he cope at Flushing Meadows! He should have pasta the night before he plays and maybe a few bites of a banana during the match! I do worry that some of these diets are too 'faddy'!

thanks Harriet - hadn't read it as my Observer must have been an early edition and didn't carry the match report.

Caz - While I agree that a lot of diets are faddy, Andy has said already that he feels more energetic, is sleeping better and that his digestion has improved, so there must be something in all this.  Anyway he's been complaining about tired legs for at least two years now and in another report I read he said the probable cause was the heat - something I do find a bit strange given his training sessions in Miami.

However, he played all his matches at the hottest time of the day - just like he had to do last year in Toronto and then Cinci - and look what happened there!  I do not consider this to be fair on the part of the schedulers.  Djoko, Nadal and Fed all get plenty of late afternoon/evening slots, so why not Andy?
