Paris Masters R1: Andy Murray vs Alex de Minaur

If he aims at a seeding for the AO, this will then be one of the rare chances to do so.

Rather interestingly Leon Smith, who was present at the match, isn't in total agreement with Andy's claim that he's not enjoying playing tennis, and says that his game is actually improving -

In the heat of the moment, you can hardly judge your performance objectively. The only thing you see is another cruel defeat. With the scoreline 5:2 in the decider Andy must have felt like some weeks before and got tight. And DeM must have felt that he had got under Andy‘s skin and kept doing what he is best at: bringing back every ball.
In my opinion, Leon Smith is right in his evaluation and he certainly put the defeat into perspective when talking to Andy.

^ I agree with Leon too.  Not only has he been watching Andy play for years but he was also his first coach, apart from his mother, when he was in his teens, so does know what makes him tick.  I think you're right as well about what happened at 5-2 in that set, and also as one my comms said at the time 'if you've been beaten several times by the same player it can be very difficult to get that out of your head no matter how often you play them.'  Let's hope Andy is well away from de Minaur in Metz!

I'm sure he does but at least he got there in the end.
