OMG! That is not an easy first game.

I am hoping that Andy will just have too much experience and defeat this new talent. I am a little worried that the American will come in ready warmed up by qualification matches and with a thought that he can beat a star of the past  but decided that once Andy is into this match he will take control and win.

PS Gone for a three sets win because of that.

Another tough one. Andy is playing top 30 tennis. But he keeps getting beaten by top players and form players.
As Andy says himself he knows he is there. With a bit of luck he just may make a run.
Such a tough draw again. This kid is good and will be out for the scalp. Experience may get Andy over the line.
But saying all that it is just such a pleasure to see Andy back playing at such an amazing level. If only he had a consistent 1st serve. But in my opinion that has been his downfall in so many matches against the very best.
Come on Andy

Tricky, but at least Andy has watched him play so hopefully will have some tactics worked out.  Brooksby has also played a lot more tennis recently than he has done in the past so might be starting to tire a little, particularly if it goes to three sets.  Agree with the comments about Andy's first serve though.

I sometimes wish if he just took a little of his first serve and went for placement. If he had a consistent serve like the other big 3. Andy I believe would be up there with them.
But what the hell we cant complain. The joy he has given us. I don't think I have missed more than half a dozen matches since I retired in 2009. I always found a way.

I agree about the importance of placement, something Federer always maintained was more important than how fast you could serve.  Agree with the rest of your post and think that we're grateful for the fact that he's still playing despite all the setbacks.

Thanks Tryz.  Don't know why but I had a feeling this might happen.

PS - They're trying to find a replacement for him.  This is the second time this season that this has happened to Andy.

It would be interesting to look at stats. At one stage Andy had more 'give-in' playing against him than any other player. Perhaps he might lead the way in pre-match withdrawals?
Not good to have to rethink his game strategy and wait. It is not yet showing in the play schedule but i assume Andy will now be last on today?

Sorry just seen this.  No match going ahead as scheduled and in fact is about to start.

I hope Andy can cope with the new opponent. Köpfer seems a solid player, but I think less dangerous than Brooksby.
