lol. i heard if you have it on too loud it can distract your opponent and throw off their concentration- like in the way maria sharapova has been accused of grunting so loudly. i remember one man even said her grunts could be classed as cheating!

its true. when she grunts so loudly it affects the other players hearing- not in a dangerous way or anything but you cant hear the ball bounce of your racquet strings or bounce. it can affect the way you hit the ball. i dont know if she does it on purpose but its a clever way of cheating if she does.

I think some of her grunts are real, but cmon, no-one really grunts that loud.. its like 100 decibels or something. Theres got to be some cheating going on

maria starts off soft but gets louder as she plays harder or as she gets more tired. he grunts only prevent the other player from hearing it off of her strings, nothing else.
