Andy did much better than I thought he would. Clearly lacking physical fitness, strength and match fitness, but that was only to be expected.

Shame Andy couldn't take it, but nobody expected him to display the level of tennis he showed today after such a long break. Hope he recovers well from a long match and hopefully he'll feel fit enough to play some Hurlingham matches next week.

I hope so as well particularly as Hurlingham sounds a good idea.

To go three sets after not playing for eleven months is amazing and he could have won.  It would have been nice for him to get to round two, but just glad to see back.

Couldn't really watch the last couple of games (work!) but frankly I think this has to be WAY better than anything we might have expected. If he'd had a slightly less talented opponent than Kyrgios I think he'd have come through!

Andy's overall performance did not deserve such an ending. He played a fine  match and I am not disappointed at all. I am super happy to see him back on court and deliver a good fight. Keep it up, Andy!

He just needs matches now. He was clearly tired at the end, which you wouldn’t normally expect after a 3 set match. But that may also be mental tiredness, being the first competitive match he’s played in nearly a year.

The good news is that although he physically tired towards the end, his movement was very good. So great signs going forward.

Just hope he doesn’t draw Fed in round 1 at Wimby.
