thumb up  He's been like this since day one Chris.  Got reported once and was banned for a month, but unfortunately there's no mods around now we can report him to!

I have followed him his whole career and anyone who tries to defend how he plays now are deluded I loved the guy at his peak but it is blatently obvious he's done it's ok beating guys to win challengers but as soon as he steps up the next level he just can't hack it and it's time he should hang up his racket and be remembered for the player he was instead of what he is now.I think it's very sad what's happened with him.

Maybe, but that isn't an excuse to trash him when he doesn't play well.  Why should he hang up his racket anyway if he still enjoys playing - and he has hinted that he might play Challengers more often now.

Great couple of weeks, just ran out of steam. On to Wimbledon.

Do you think there's any possibility he might play Eastbourne now that he's been knocked out early?

I  suppose he might do although he's never really liked playing the week before Wimbledon.  Lendl might think differently though!

The alternative would be to play exhibition matches at The Boodles, something he has done in the past.  No ranking points but a fair selection of top players.

^I will be surprised if he plays a tournament this coming week . If it were me I would spend time with the team looking at how to maximise skills and minimise the limitations of a player that has a long period away from his past standards. He is 36 and whilst that is not a disaster (Novak shows that) the breaks from tennis are very significant.
My view, as an ageing sporting participant, He should go to Wimbledon and have fun. Being relaxed in sports is essential. He might manage a good run that way. Not to beat that Australian is a good indicator that he is close to beating top thirty players but he will falter at current standard with top ten who have speed and power.

At least Andy isn't over-reacting to this loss but is taking positives from the last two tournaments.  Also it doesn't look like he'll play another tournament before Wimbledon, his intention being to

"Just recharge a little bit, and then go to work on my game.  I don't want to overanalyse. Today there were definitely some things I can do better, but at the same time I have done lots of good things over the last couple of weeks as well. I want to keep going in that direction.  Keep serving well, keep working on my movement. That was something we spent a lot of time working on before Surbiton and Nottingham, and it's really crucial for me that I'm moving well. So I will definitely spend a lot of time working on that.”

^ Do not forget that he is playing in the doubles with Cam Norrie later today (abt5.00pm) so he has another opportunity to play as he thinks that he should. A chance to try to relax and enjoy himself which we know he can do but seldom seems to achieve.

PS: His brother lost so a chance to keep the family in the Mens doubles?  Andy has won this before!

^ Andy pulled out shortly before the match citing fatigue.

De Minaur went on to defeat Diego Schwarzman 6-2, 6-2.  Schwarzman didn't really pose much of a threat, but de Minaur's serve was much poorer than it was on Tuesday while Schwarzman made the same mistake as Andy did by getting into long rallies which more often than not de Minaur won.

I honestly think Andy came up against de Minaur having a fiendishly fantastic day. It was as if he could do no wrong.
