Queens R3: Murray vs Tipsarevic

Andy's match against the Peter Andre look-a-like is 2nd on centre court, with play due to start at 12.30 pm (weather permitting).
The H2K is pretty interesting, locked at 3-3, with Janko winning their last meeting in 2010.

"He's a very good player" Murray said of his next opponent. "I lost to him here a few years ago and he's a good grass court player, a tricky opponent. I have to play better than today if I want to win that one."

Andy said yesterday that he'd have to play better today than he did yesterday to beat this guy! That ankle is still a worry though, but I hope his determination will see him through! I'm going for Andy in 3!

Andy in two. Tipsarevic is an error machine, that suits Andy perfectly.

Tipsarevic oscillates a lot. He has tremendous talent, but often he's not focused on the match so he makes many errors.

It was easy noticeable yesterday that Andy didn't move the best. Hope he will be fit for Wimbledon.
EDIT Is it rescheduled to 15:00 p.m. ?

Well the good news is that he's been advised that playing won't make it worse. But I suspect it means he won't make it to the finals again this year. And perhaps from a Wimbledon perspective that would not be such a bad thing. Nevertheless I'm very much hoping he can play well enough to get through with as little pain as possible. Had been looking forward to watching the match now I'm back again from London but it's been scheduled just at the time I'll probably be at my Pilates lesson.

Just looking at the year to date - nearly half the year gone and no titles. Yikes.

And he's behind Ferrer at 5th in the race for the O2 though reasonably ahead of the others. Still I don't think he had any titles this time last year did he and at least he has RG SF this year. But this is another reason as to why it would be good if he could win Queens despite the ankle even though it's only 250 points.

Hey Guys. Missed the match yesterday as i was trawling around London Museums with some friends who are visiting me from Budapest. Managed to catch up on all the posts here this morning though, they've all gone out to the beach. From all the various comments i infer it was a good solid performance from our Andy, although according to various reports he let his mind wonder right at the end of the second set, but refocused enough to win the match in three sets. Todays match i fear will not be so straight forward, coupled with the fact that his Ankle is not yet fully healed. Additionally like Ruthie suggested, i too am of the opinion that Andy will not make it to the final again this year. But my worry is further afield, this ankle may yet still be troublesome during the early stages of wimby making him more vulnerable to an early round exit. Judging from various reports and interviews he's given, his mind seems in a constant state of flux regarding the injury issue, not the best prep for wimby. Thats why my expectations of him have been diluted somewhat. When he's 100% fit both phyisically and mentally he can beat anyone. If it does not go his way over the next few weeks, then we should all be a little contrite and understanding and try not to judge him too harshly. He will definately bounce back stronger from all these injury scares.

Fear you may be right PT. I was wondering how preoccupation with the ankle might affect him mentally as well as physically. I fear too that some of our fellow MW members won't follow your advice about being understanding but I hope the majority will. Still let's hope we're wrong and that the ankle can do some healing next week before Wimby starts.

I can't see the match time being changed What - still showing 2nd on centre court. Other courts have times.
Anyhow, best of luck to Andy.
