Queens R3: Murray vs Tipsarevic

Just looking at the year to date - nearly half the year gone and no titles. Yikes.

If Andy wins a slam, I'm sure he'll get a 'title'. Very Happy

I was wondering how preoccupation with the ankle might affect him mentally as well as physically.

Well for starters mentally his preoccupation with the injury both before and during matches will undoubtedly affect him, he'll be prone to worrying about it and as he put it in one of his interviews "stressing" over it. Most definately not a good mind set to have prior to a big match or otherwise, this stressor (the ankle injury) could stop him focusing on the task in hand, thus causing him frustrations - we could very well see the angry Andy returning with avengence over these next few weeks as a result. As for the impact on his game phyisically, it appears it is still hindering his movement occassionally, aswell as causing him some slight discomfort. This will have a bearing on his game, he'll be more prone to playing conservatively, and we all know if andy is not able to play to his strength and that is his ability to pull opponents out of position on court due to his athletisism, then  his matches could disintergrate into a dogfight causing him further angst, or to put it another way Andy will be very cautious when running around, leaping, and pushing off from the right foot. There's no doubt in my mind that it will and is affecting his game both mentally and phyisically. Its a fine balancing act right now, too much and he might aggravate it further and too little and he may very well be under prepared for the stresses phyisically that wimby will surely throw up.......

I think Andy in 3. Tipsarevic enjoys playing Andy and always steps up, so Andy has to be totally focused and not go on walkabouts.

Easier said than done, when your contending with so many other issues that have the potential to derail your focus slightly.

Seems like he's preparing people for a loss.

I for once wont be upset, as I think once Andy feels he has had enough practice, call it a day and rest that ankle before Wimbledon. His ankle has not had time to fully recover, he must still have twinges there. I just want that ankle to be 100% and then I am comfortable watching him play.
