Murray's Ranking

Quote

Well, he would need maybe a couple of Masters! Also a couple of ATP Titles. As he will lose points from last year, he could also do with getting to the 3rd/4th Round of RG and QF/SF Wimbledon! That would do it probably, it is possible! Maybe not likely BEFORE the USO, but by the end of the year maybe!

Great minds think alike!

I think we are being to optimistic in reaching the top 5 this year. Murray said himself that his goal is to reach Shangai! So as long as he gets into the top 10, then it will have been a good year!  But to reach the top 5 all he needs to do is win a Slam, which IS possible this year! So maybe, look at Baghdatis!  Think

If he wins a grand slam, it's the US Open. But 2008 is the year.

Well, most people thought that Murray would struggle with Rebound Acebut he did well, so he might surprise us on the grass!

Murray's GS record:    W - 3rd, US - 2nd,
     AO - 1st, RG - 1st, W - 4th, US - 4th,
     AO - 4th,

Roland Garros is the important one, he needs to improve and hopefully he wil make it to the 4th round again!

I wonder what Gilbert will do with Murray on clay... surely he has the potential to be great on it considering his academy Think

Andy has basically no points to defend in the clay season. I think he can go far in a couple of the clay Masters but it will be tough. He will be in the Top 10 before Wimbledon methinks.  yay

Before Wimbledon? Surprised I sure hope so, but I doubt it.

Me too. A good run in the Clay season would see him into the top 10!

Does anyone remember the days when Murray claimed clay to be his best surface? Has anyone seen he play well at a clay tourny ?

I think it's feasable that he makes top 10 by Wimbledon, but not top 8. So he will still be liable to meet Mssrs Nadal and Federer before QF  doh

Unless the wimbledon comittee upgrade him  yay which they might well do if he's 9 or 10.
