Teejay, The tennis fans will want to see the top players against one another at the latter stages. Playing them off against each other in R16 is not a good plan? They will want any of the big four in the semis whether they are good on grass or not. It is a huge bonus for Andy to be ranked 3 instead of 5. He will avoid Rafa, Roger and Novak until a semi if he plays to expectations and wins through till then. That sort of adjustment is, in my view, enough.
Yes, I can see the benefits, and I can understand why a tournament would want the top players in the latter stages. I just think it stands out that Nadal has done nothing on grass for two years, but still gets seeded above someone who won last year and has a great record on the grass.

How would you feel if Nadal does well in Halle?

Nadal did make it to the QF in Halle in 2012, when he was defeated by Kohlschreiber, but I agree with @lashurst. Would the organisers really want to see Nadal seeded outside the top 4 despite his very early exits the last two years? In some ways it makes a mockery of the whole system, although maybe his Halle exploits were enough to save him?

Well if he does, he does. My point is that one tournament run won't really compare with someone who (touch wood) hasn't lost on grass since 2012. I mean, Wimbledon runner up, Olympics winner, Queen's winner, Wimbledon winner. That's a 24-1 win/loss record on the surface.
It's not Andy's seeding I'm bothered about, or even Nadal's really, because I can see that ranking has to be taken in to account. It just strikes me as strange that Nadal is seeded that highly when he has performed so badly on the surface for so long.

Talking about Nadal - Nike have just unveiled this model of him made out of ... you've guessed it ... red clay to celebrate his 9th FO win. Shame that the Wimbledon authorities are still dragging their feet about something to celebrate Andy's Olympic gold, let alone his historic triumph last year.
Sorry about the size but I don't know how to make pics smaller/bigger!

They have got his celebration right, but it looks nothing like him. I looked at it and thought it looked more like Borg than Nadal, but that could just be my eyes.

Funny you should say that TJ because I too thought it looked much more like Borg than Nadal. Too flattering for Nadal really.

I think Wimbledon have had difficulties with something for Andy, I know they want to include the Olympics in whatever they "do" but there in lies the issues the IOC and the Olympic rings, you need permission I believe to use the rings on "non olympic" things (if that makes any sense)

The IOC are a nightmare to deal with. It's been going on for years, and not exclusive to Wimbledon.
Making a statue out of clay (I think it was Nike who did that) doesn't require permission from anyone.

I know that Wimbledon WILL do something for Andy, just hope they can get an agreement to include the Olympic win too (it was on the Wimbledon grounds, just need permission for the rings I think )
