AO F - Murray vs Federer

Quote

I'm sure Andy will look back on this match and see himself what he needed to do to win.

I don't want to seem too harsh on the guy, but why do you see that being the case? He didn't after that destruction in New York a couple of years ago, so why now?

Not close and no cigar.

Do you honestly believe he can do that? Against anyone else he'd probably have won today, but Fed on form is simply unbeatable. I highly doubt Andy (or anyone else for that matter, except possibly Del Potro) will ever be at that level.

My Aussie commentators say that Andy played too much behind the base line.  They hope that he takes away the video and looks at where he went wrong.  They also say that if Andy's coach told Andy that game plan, it didn't work.

You can't deny Fed's record - the man is a living legend...

Sorry boogers - I disagree - Fed has to up his game for Andy - he knows that and he has the ability to do it - that's why he has been so consistently good. Andy is coming from behind all the time but he's 7 years or so younger. This match was progression for Andy and even more so because Fed's game has improved too.

Congratulations Andy for an absolutely phenomenal match tonight! You have won SO many fans here in Australia. Good on you, and we'll see you again next year. You're a champ, (even if you do think beer tastes disgusting). xx

With his talent, can Andy develop a FH similar to that of Federer and get rid of that loopy forehand ?

So far I have a paged filled with the words: **** BALLS **** **** FUCKITY ******* ****.

I think it needs some more refinement.

At least he won a few games more than last time they met in a final!

You can't even begin to compare this to the US Open final. Andy was at another level today in comparison. A little tentative in places perhaps, but you can't entirely blame Andy for his lack of aggression today. Federer didn't really let him in today. You could tell he was trying to do something different. But Federer was too good. Come on Wimbledon.

I sensed that Andy was affected by nerves affecting his consistency and missing when he needs to go for his shots.

Becker is right.  Andy is lacking confidence when he needs to pull the trigger.
