FO SF: Murray vs Nadal

Quote

Andy better be on first tomorrow as I need to travel and if he is on second I will not see the whole of the match....so praying for first!! OOP should be out quite early.

I'm not sure which I would prefer.

If I was being selfish, it would be second, as that way I'll most likely see all of it.

However, if they play first, he has a set time to prepare for, so no reason why the warm up and such like won't be spot on.

Second may disrupt that, see the conditions change to suit Nadal more, but would give Andy more recovery time for the ankle.

Pro's and con's to either........

Thanks for the link Nigel, but don't you think we have heard this fighting talk from Andy before, and then the reality is very different? I'm an avid Murray fan, but sometimes i do wish he'd just relax and let his tennis do the talking. its becoming more apparent that many think andy is one of the most, if not the most skillful player currently on tour, Quote from Chela after his loss to Andy yesterday: "I think he can win Grand Slam tournaments. He's a very complete player and he can mix it up a lot. He does everything well and he can play against any player." Juan Ignacio Chela utters the words every British tennis fan wants to hear.

so its evidently clear others think he has the skill, rather than all this fighting talk, lets see him do it everytime all the time, consistency will be the key for Andy, he seems to have the belief and i doubt his ankle will really be an issue. This is Our Andy's time to step up and take this wonderful opportunity that has presented itself. He should take heart from the fact that his game on the whole has been firing at about 60% during this years FO, and he's still made the semi's, if andy can get it up to 100% which he'll have to do then i believe he'll beat Rafa on friday.

The French won't be partisan for Rafa, that's for sure. They're well known for not being too overly smitten with their 5 time champion. Federer is their sweetheart, along with any French player of course.

Of course, the nightmare scenario is this:

Federer beats the Joker.

Andy does Fed's dirty work for him and beats Rafa in five exhausting sets.

Federer takes Andy out in the final, yet again.

This possibility fills me with more revulsion than is good for me.

Like the pic of him with Brad at the bottom. Always nice to see.

As far as poision picking goes, losing to Federer again will be infinitely preferable to unleashing the Djokovic is the GOAT bandwagon.

I don't even want to think about that possibility.

The thought of Federer winning makes me feel queasy too..scary thing is he has looked the best of the bunch so far, he has put away some potentially tricky players with ease at this year's FO. Andy will give a great account of himself but lose in 3 tight sets I reckon, anything above that is a bonus as it's surely too much of a step up in class from Berrer, Troicki, Chela to Nadal. I'd have preferred it if Andy had beaten a top ten player in the last round.

Not happy about this. Anyone who works is going to miss most of it now. Fed and Djokovic have been first up all week why put them second on now.
