Rotterdam F: Murray vs Nadal

Quote

Well done, Andy!! Great win. We've decided that Andy will be a little bit disappointed because he won't have beaten Nadal in the usual fashion. He loves playing him because it brings out his best tennis. For me Rafa will always be one of the most sportsmanlike players as Andy is himself. His English is getting better. Good victory speech from Andy - roll on Dhubai!! yay yay

They said at the beginning that Nadal looked tired, and he's just confirmed that. Maybe it had a lot to do with that.

Andy's name will be on one of the boards around the court next year. Smile
It's already there as he gave his victory speech.

I'm good, thanks.  Not much happening on here other that the usual - I think.  Mark is starting a fan photo gallery - should be good..... I'm going to Dubai on Friday!  yay
You lucky thing, elly, have a good time and bring back some picks - perhaps he'll win again.

"Sorry to Rafa, I know he hurt his leg," said Murray afterwards.

"It shows how good a player he is - he was still managing to beat me on one leg."

Well done Andy! - Surprising to give Rafa a bagel at the end - hope he liked it.

At least it was only one set Rafa won.

Roll on Dubai!!

(BTW, I was the Structural Engineer who did the design work for the Dubai Stadium so I know - never saw it completed though, more's the pity.

Nole would have pulled out of this match before having to deal with the bagel, that I can say with some confidence.

Yes indeed he would Mark - just shows who the real men are doesn't it.

I expect Rafa to drop out of the top 50 and be playing Challengers within the end of the year after that final set atrocity. Whistle

Title numero ten!

It was nice to see Rafa hobble all the way to the finish line, great champion. Nole would have been back in the locker room after the first break in the third set.

Very Happy LOL The Serbian Shirker is certainly getting a reputation for his dubious withdrawals over the last couple of seasons isn't he. I'm still gobsmacked over his Aus Open default when he was defending champion..
Things like that do not give you an air of invincibility in the locker room, something that Andy is now acquiring.

And OMG elly. You're going to Dubai!!! I dont know why it didn't register before. Lucky, lucky you. Have a fabulous time.  hug
