2019 Schedule Discussion Thread

^ thanks, although I had thought it was confirmed ages ago, perhaps not.

The Vienna organiser says they are holding a wildcard for Andy, and there are suggestions that Andy will play doubles in Davis Cup. But I thought that was on clay...
Re Antwerp, Andy only confirmed it on his Facebook on 21 August  with the tournament organisers announcing it on the same day. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the Davis Cup so can't help you there..

^ I've now checked out the Davis Cup and it's being played on indoor hard courts at the Caja Magica, but given the timing of the event and the fact that mini-Murray No.3 is widely predicted to arrive either in November or December, I can't see Andy playing.

Thanks ATL and Eileen. I have changed the Schedule to show Antwerp although it is not shown on Andy's own website.

Andy just announced on Facebook that he is taking a wildcard at Shanghai.

Thanks wb.  It's certainly sounding like he's feeling quite confident about his rehab process.

Here’s the BBC article.  Easier for everyone to read than Facebook.

Thanks again.  I agree that Andy posts so much on Facebook these days that it's quite easy to miss announcements like this one, which is why I didn't notice the Antwerp entry for over two weeks, particularly as I don't look at his Facebook all that frequently.  Also as far as I can see the BBC omitted to mention it, possibly as Andy didn't say much as well as the fact that it's a 250 and not a Masters.

Will you confirm Shanghai too as he appears to have taken a wildcard? He won there three times. His first way back in 2010.

PS Was any decision made if Andy was going to get GB into the new ATP event in Australia in early January? He was not keen on this potential replacement for Davis Cup but our involvement was only possible with his no 2 protected ranking.

Waverleybear has already mentioned Shanghai earlier today.

I remember Shanghai 2011, where he was defending, champion, when he was presented with a supposed Andy look-a-like Terracotta Warrior!

I updated the schedule on page 1 of this thread at 8pm this evening. I can’t update it the exact moment that Andy annouces something. I’m sure Colin would say the same of the schedule on the landing page, and he’ll get round to updating it when he can.

I was only trying to be helpful! I write lots of schedules for things that I do. That schedule is complicated by status of entries (they will always change?). I do not expect Colin to be sat there editing all day. I am most pleased that we have one at all. My thanks.

I agree Marathonarthur.  When I think back to The Australian Open and how  gloomy things  looked for Andy then, it’s great we have a schedule to keep up with.   Thanks ATL, Colin and everyone on here who updates all the official pages.

It's got nothing to do with the fact that this isn't the DC as Andy explains in this article -  https://www.smh.com.au/sport/tennis/murray-unsure-about-inaugural-atp-cup-as-he-focuses-on-australian-open-20190913-p52qwc.html - but he's going to have to make his mind up by 5 pm today.  I was under the impression though from what Jamie said that he could enter now so that GB could participate even if it turned out that he didn't play.

Amen to that.  I like to wait until confirmed by Andy's website, or the event websites, but as well as adding Shanghai, I have added Vienna as a possible. It would help Andy's website were kept up to date.
