21 year old Yunchaokete has a career high ATP singles ranking of No. 164, achieved on 8 May 2023. A junior world No. 5 in 2018, he didn't turn professional until last year which meant that he started the 2022 season unranked. Since then he's reached 8 ITF finals, winning 6 of them. In April this year he won his maiden Challenger title at the Seoul Open. He also represents China in the Davis Cup. In R1 here he defeated fellow qualifier Britain's Harry Wendelken 7-6(2), 7-5.
In an interview with ATP Tour.com he said of Andy - “He’s my idol. When I was nine or 10, I started to love him, The dream has come. I don’t know how to describe this feeling, it’s pretty special.”
