US Open 2015 R4: Andy Murray vs Kevin Anderson

Quote

Wow.  Pretty awful stuff from Murray.

We really should not subject other people to our rants, should we?    A little bit of control would be good.     Should you be throwing stones?

Usual negative sad people !!! Thank goodness for the sensible realalistic true fans on here . Can't wait to watch the rest of Andy's playing years , win or loose , I'm just so great full we have such a fantastic British player , without him tennis would be very dull.

Well said! And also to Ruthie and some others. Apart from all the other factors- heavy schedule, hard draw, illness- there were two players on the court and both influence the outcome. Anderson played really well and by law of averages he was due to get lucky some time- just unfortunate it was against Andy! Sad today he lost but will soon shake it off and look forward to next week!

Not concerned by the rant- not pretty to listen to but kinda typical Andy.

Murray has shed loads to aim for and be motivated by. This loss could energise him. Davis Cup, Aus Open (huge motivator), Tour finals, flippin French open for goodness sake - Murray can win that tournament - no mistake. Anyone but Djoker, Fed, Cilic or Stan for the US Open now. Allez Tsonga.

Remember the days when it is  was the slams Andy usually couldn't perform in?

We have basically had five straight years of him getting to the last eight minimum in slams. That's an excellent record for anyone. Don't think we can expect quite that consistency in future, after all he will be 29 by the time most slams are played next year.

Having watched the match cannot agree with the negative comments. He (Andy) had 20, yes only 20 unforced errors during the match.
Anderson was SUBLIME last night. Something that cannot be accounted for. His Serving was THe Best and he has suddenly discoved volleying.
Why oh why did Andy continue togo to Kevin`s forehand? And then, how to cope with the outside backhand.

Many aspects were against Andy last night
1 The court, as previously mentioned
2, His Cold
3. His efforts to overtake Federer in the rankings....playing Washington etc
4. Beating Djokovic in Montreal
\
However, I have to presume that his TEAM did not prepare hime enough for the match. Perhaps, with the HTH it was taken for granted that Andy would win. Lookindg at their last meetin Queens, why would they think otherwise?

Someone, and they were on the Anderson team, did their homework!
Andy's team, I do  believe lacked the prep that was required and the above points contributed and made it almost disastrous for Andy.
IMO he is missing Amile. Since bringing her on board he has performed above our expetations.
Bring back Amile quickly and drop Tomas.....no improvment since he has been involved.
In conclusion, my thoughts are that his team let him down with their lack of, or reluctance to give Andy the correct advice. Rest on you Laurels.....and you will fail!
Work MUST be done on the second serve. And it is so worrying that lesser players FEEL THAT THY CAN BEAT ANDY.......FEDERER AND DJOKOVIC HAVE QUITE THE OPPOSITE EFFECT ON PLAYERS

Absolutely, totally and utterly agree in the most comprehensive fashion possible to humanity. I really, really want a Tsonga win here, but the thing that jumped straight out of the telly and into my gobsmacked face was how crude Chilly Itch looks. Not having Sky I rarely see these matches live.
Blimey indeed. Allez Le Mouzzard. Do whatever it takes. Get right in about them next time.

Anyone else think Jez Green looks downright fat?

Yes, too many of these possibly!  toast toast he he
Seriously though, maybe the team are a wee bit too comfortable. After all , who's doing all the work to keep them ?

Green is with Berdych now. Do you mean Matt Little and I don't think his weight really matters anyway.

Haven't seen Jez Green for ages.   Are we talking about Matt Little?   I thought he looked a bit tubby and a bit quiet as well last night.

No, you are right......particularly if he is with Berdych. I'd buy him a few calories at any time!

Don't mention the fence. I think I would have beaten the world high-jump record if I'd had a horizontal pole behind me.
