Washington R3: Andy Murray vs Taylor Fritz

The Tsitsipas match may well have been Murray's if the match started 20 minutes earlier and they then didn't have to come off court at 20 to 11, but that's what happened.  It was still a great chance to win the match on the Friday though.

I would rather Murray had another 45 points for the rankings and another match today than be out this tournament and thinking about next week now.

He beat Sonego in their only meeting in the first round in Doha this year by winning a third set tiebreak 7-4.  Let's hope the same thing can happen again and he can go on another proper run in a tournament just like that one.

Just as I suspected, it was climate change protestors who interrupted the match.  Fair enough if people want to air their beliefs but not at the expense of inconveniencing others.

Also Andy's reaction to the match.

You know it’s good I live by myself as my family would put me in a home for the crazy, I do so much yelling during Andy’s matches. Haha

Lol, I'm like that as well, I'm sure the neighbours can often hear me.

Just btw, after beating Shevchenko in the first half of the day, Dan Evans went on to play Tiafoe in the night session quarter-final and win in straight sets! Played really well and Tiafoe not on top form. Plays Dimitrov tonight in the semi. I'm glad for him, he's had a terrible year so far.

Fritz lost in the semis in three to Tallon Griekspoor, who plays Dan Evans in the final.
