How do I cope watching Andy on TV? Early rounds or small tournaments I bounce on the sofa and swear and hide behind cushions. Semi-finals and finals of Slams there's always a HUGE glass of wine. So by the end of Wimbledon I was glum and morose and by the end of the Olympics I was noisily and apparently entertainingly funny.

Although for the US Open I was fine. Not nervous. I don't know why. I had noro at the time so maybe my body had no reserves left for being nervous!

I hope this year Andy explore the more adventuress side of his game like he used to. In the big matches I understand consistent deep hitting from the baseline is the only way he can win but against the lesser players I hope he free's up and expresses his full array of  shots.

   And apparently Andy has already broken his New Year resolution not to swear on court.   Who cares?  Some players smash up rackets, some swear - live with it!  The stress and pressure these guys are under doesn't bear thinking about.

So irritated that both reports I read in press today about the SF were all about the swearing and said virtually nothing about the match itself.  I know it was only a set but I'd have liked some sense of how Andy was playing and couldn't give a stuff if he was swearing.

Why do the press not go and learn another language I am sure if the listened to the Spanish players or the French they would be able to say how many times they swear when on court.  Andy take a tip learn Gaelic and I am sure that will shut them up.

They should go to a Verdasco match - then they'd really get to experience lots of swearing to complain about!

Andy can understand Spanish and so can a cousin of mine, and I understand Verdasco's language is utterly foul - and also I think his on-court behaviour generally leaves a lot to be desired - yet he's never picked up for any of it.

I think it's time unpires took a tumble to themselves and actually learned, however unsavoury they might be, at least the more common swear words in French, Spanish, Italian, Serbian, Czech, Russian and, dare I say it, Swiss-German.  Of course Federer swears - he's even admitted it himself - but the only time he was given a code violation and fined was during the 2009 USO final when he argued with the umpire in English.
