After squeezing through big serving South African Kevin Anderson in the fourth round, Andy will next do battle with 'Mr. Hot Shot' himself, Grigor Dimitrov who is in his second career Grand Slam quarter-final and looking imperious, losing two sets on his way to the quarters, with Murray yet to lose one. This is arguably the career year for Dimitrov, already winning three tournaments in Acapulco, Bucharest and at the Wimbledon warm up at the Queens Club a few weeks prior to this tournament. At one spot below his career high ranking of No. 12, Grigor is full of confidence and is pitted by many to be one of the major contenders outside of the Big 4 for the Wimbledon crown this year. Grigor is arguably one of the best players this year already and one for the future, possessing a very strong all round game and looking ready to beat the best of the best at Slams. This is a worrisome proposition for Murray so he will be looking to stay focused and on his game, ready to pounce on the Bulgarian whenever the chance presents itself.
This will be the fifth meeting between the two, with Murray leading the head to head 3-1, losing to Grigor in their last meeting in Acapulco on his way to the title there.
