Wimbledon 2016 Final: Andy Murray vs Milos Raonic

Quote

^ Berdych definately 'tapped up' Dani though. Dani was seen sitting very obviously in the stands during Berdych's matches when he and Andy were in the same tournaments duing the autumn. Dani did have a chance to do the top job but he couldn't get Andy through that post-surgery period, seemed like he was a bit stuck in the 'old way' of doing things - ie tried to carry on as if it was 2012 - and didn't really adjust to post-surgery Andy. To be honest Dani seemed a bit lost without Lendl, who reportedly treats him like a son. Things with Berdych didn't really work out for Dani. Maybe things with Delpo will go better given that Delpi has taken him on for his own merits and not as Lendl bait.

Thanks, atl.  I wish the best for Dani.

Andy confirmed in his Facebook Q & A what I felt about his win. He said he couldn't enjoy his first Wimbledon win because he felt stressed and relieved, and that he's a lot happier this rime around, feels good. Smile

Are those people saying they don't think re-visiting a relationship with Lendl would work out happily eating their shoes now? lol
Not me! I thought Lendl was great for Andy and I was mad at him when he left, though I wouldn't have been if I'd known the reason. I couldn't have been more delighted to hear he was back!  cmon yeah

Well if last time was all about the number 7, this Wimbledon win was all about the number 3 Smile

3rd straight slam final

3rd slam win

3 years since his last slam, almost to the day

3 members now in the Murray household.

20(16) minus 20(13) = 3!

And last but not least, the 3rd time he's won a major final at Wimbledon in 3 straight sets.

If you can think of anymore, let me know Smile

^ That's very interesting Gnome, so well done for working all that out!  I certainly can't think of anything else to add to it.

According to the BBC Andy has said he's unlikely to play but will travel to Belgrade anyway because he feels a "responsibility" to the team.

Thanks Gnome for the fascinating analysis.

Thanks Aileen. If Andy turns up with his Wimbledon trophy replica in hand, that should spur the GB team into greater performance as well as scare the hell out of the opposition and maybe they will give up even before the match begins lol

Well, ok France didn't won the Eurocup Final, it's a shame. But still I'm so happy today !
Finally !!! After 3 hard years Andy has finaly won a GS title again !
3 years of pain and joy watching Andy go down and up the ranking.
3 years of arguments here about 2nd serve, even 1 first serve, return, mental, fitness, Mauresmo or not Mauresmo, Lendl, will Andy win a GS?, etc ...

And I can't imagine how hard it must has been for Andy. His tears would have something related to it surely.

Massive congrats Andy, cheers every one ! 3 GS titles and counting !

3 members now in the Murray household.

I think these guys would dispute that number.

3rd different GS Final opponent.

No of nights baby daughter reportedly slept through the night prior to Final.

and probably loads of other trivial coincidences e.g. no of times Lendl caught smiling on camera since 2012.

lol  I admit I was a bit confused at first about the 3 major titles at Wimbledon until I remember the Olympics.
