I liked that Andy was totally in control the whole match. We are so used to being on a rollercoaster but this was wonderful to watch. And it seemed that he was also in control of his serve, I never felt like he was going to get broken. It was a different Andy out there, I loved it.

Last thing I did on the glorious Sunday was listen to this bit of music that they always used to play on the last day of Wimbledon.

^ Many thanks for that. Happy memories and very fitting, particularly as until four years ago Wimbledon was the only tennis I was able to watch.

Touch the sky - and touch it he did.

althusser in retrospect I realised I'd watched in my usual state of tension because I couldn't really believe that Andy was going to win in such a stress free way. Now at one level I have to because I have this stupid superstition that if I start relaxing it will all go pear-shaped. But at another level I don't think I'd quite appreciated the extent to which Andy had the match so under control and how Raonic really didn't have a chance playing against an Andy who had him absolutely sussed. I've re-watched parts of it in highlights and it's great to be able fully to appreciate Andy's brilliance.

Yes it was still very tense for hardcore fans, with only one break in the whole match. I was a bit irritated by Sue Barker's end of set reflections, as it came across as if they were expecting a procession to victory. Fortunately yes Andy was excellent throughout and delivered - have also been watching replay today

althusser I get furious with commentators who get ahead of themselves. We all know how 'momentum' can change on a six pence in a tennis match so my tension wasn't so misplaced.

It seems they still can't get over the fact that Andy returned a 147mph serve and won the point!

A recent classic being Inverdale in round 2 of the French - at a set and 2-0 up he goes this is 'a gentle stroll in the park' for Andy. Andy then loses set 6-2 and we go to a fifth!!

Yes, I think many have an aversion to servebotting and so appreciate the antidote!!

That tune brings back so many memories of my childhood in the 70's of watching Borg, Connors, McEnroe and dreaming of a British male winner at Wimbledon. Never thought I would but now seen it twice and wasn't it worth the wait!

I watched the Queen's final yesterday and when Andy was down a set and a break John Lloyd had him written off. He always finds a negative in Andy's progress. He still hurts at his unsuccessful spell as Davis Cup captain.

Any point will do.

I've only ever heard positive things from Lloyd so he can't be that bad.

I watched the replay again last night as TV was pretty rubbish. I enjoyed it even more than when it was played. For a start I could relax knowing that Andy had won. It was pure pleasure and enjoyed it very much.
Andy was I thought even more emotional than his first Wimbledon win, it was a great release for him. He said he would enjoy his second win better and celebrate with family, team and friends. I really think he would enjoy it better than the first win.
I am now looking forward to the Rio Olympics how Andy and team GB do well.
