I'd like to be impartial, but I can't!

I'm exactly the same, Deb. I don't think I've ever wished for the match to be over before it's even started but I definitely feel like that today. I'll go water my hanging baskets to keep calm!!

As usual for every GS final Andy has played, my day has been wasted just thinking about it. It never gets better. Confident but nervous. Come on Andy, I can't wait any longer!

I think we all feel the same TBH- nervous but optimistic Come on Wish I'd heard Billie-Jean interview. What an endorsement from a tennis legend

Same for me circe. Wish I'd recorded it or could even get a transcript. Have a few friends who don't quite see Andy's magic and it was wonderful to have confirmation from a tennis legend of what I've been telling them for years. She also spoke of his fantastic top spin lobs on both wings. I noticed Lindsay Davenport nodding agreement when she said he is not appreciated enough.

I'm with the nervous ones and I'm afraid I voted Andy in 5 (in the hope that I'll be wrong and it will be Andy in 3 or at least 4). Raonic has improved his game and much as I dislike him, all credit to him for that and not just relying on that bloody serve. I wasn't able to watch either of the SFs so wasn't able to see how they both played then but clearly Andy made much easier work of his. Re the Jan and Matthew 'spat': I'm with Jan on this one on the basis that Andy had to play many finals before he won one because he was always up against Fed or Novak but he never gave up (cf atl's brilliant column). Raonic has plenty of time still. So in that sense I feel Andy 'deserves' to win and especially in front of his home crowd.

It's lovely in Bristol at the moment, but I have the F1 on and it's pissing it down in Milton Keynes.
Anyone know what it's like in Wimbledon?

also meant to say great to read what the wonderful Billie Jean said about Andy. I know she has also praised him on another occasion for his supportive attitude towards women's coaches and women's tennis.

Feel the same way as everyone else! Andy should win but nervous anyway. Would love to see him make a dent in Raonic's serve early on.

Apparently it rained there this morning and then rained again around the time the players were finishing up their practice sessions. The roof on Centre was closed this morning, not sure if it is open now or not. It is dry but cloudy there now and the roof is open. The forecast was for it to be cloudy around the time the match begins but for sun and cloud as the match progresses.

The roof is closed and they've had a bit of spitting but I think it's supposed to clear up. Sorry, they just showed it, roof seems to be open now.
