I thought he was in Nadal's half? I've not really been paying much attention. This was the first match I've seen in months and it looks like that supposed form he'd found in France has disappeared again. He's gone from best player in the world to a level he's not been at in a decade almost overnight (at least over winter). It's bizarre.

I was channeling this forum - "well, at least he didn't get smashed by <insert one of the all time greats>, losing instead to a nobody journeyman" is a reasonably common refrain.  Mind you, losing yet another slam final probably isn't a great milestone either. yeah but i'd much rather he keep losing slam finals than not making them. |
